I tested the 10-piece kit on line-following robots and obstacle detection circuits—sensor response time is consistently sub-100ms with sharp transitions between lit and dark surfaces. The analog output scales linearly across 0-5V, making threshold tuning straightforward. However, ambient light interference requires careful shielding, and the 5mm detection range is disappointingly short for maze navigation without multiple sensors. Build quality is acceptable; PCB traces show adequate copper width, though solder joints occasionally need reflow.
