The SKU-9524 laser sensor delivers solid performance for hobbyist-level distance measurement and object detection. I tested it with Arduino Uno and Mega boards—integration was straightforward via analog output. The 5V logic is convenient for most microcontroller platforms. However, precision degrades noticeably beyond 2 meters, and ambient light interference requires careful calibration. The module's 650nm laser is eye-safe but the focusing mechanism feels loose. Documentation could be more detailed regarding minimum/maximum measurable distances under different lighting conditions. For prototyping DIY projects, it performs adequately; for professional applications requiring sub-centimeter accuracy, look elsewhere.
