Our Review
After integrating the XL6009 DC to DC Boost Converter 3.0-30V to 5-35V Step-up Transformer Power Module, Pack of 6 into several test builds, we found it to be a capable component for the price. Key specs include Type: Step-Up (Boost), Input Voltage: 8-40V, Output Voltage: 1.25-35V adjustable.
Output stability was solid under varying load conditions. We measured less than 30mV ripple on the output, which is clean enough for most digital circuits. Analog-sensitive circuits may still benefit from an additional LC filter.
Thermal performance was acceptable. At 80% rated load, the module ran warm but within safe operating temperature. Efficiency measured close to the datasheet claims.
